Quantum Capital Partners ("Quantum") today announced that a company of the Quantum Opportunity Fund II GmbH & Co. KG has acquired 100% of the shares in Stena Recycling GmbH ("Stena Recycling" or "the company") from the Swedish recycling group Stena Metall AB. Following the spin-off and with the effect of the transaction, Stena Recycling was renamed Rekular GmbH ("Rekular").

With a market share of approximately 30% and processing around one million refrigeration appliances in the 2020/21 fiscal year, Rekular is the leading full-service provider for refrigeration recycling in Germany. The services for renowned customers such as Miele, Bosch, Siemens, and Liebherr include the collection, pollutant separation, and shredding of refrigeration appliances and other heat exchangers, as well as the subsequent separation of marketable iron and non-ferrous fractions. The company operates at its headquarters in Lauingen (Bavaria) and two other locations in Baumholder (Rhineland-Palatinate) and Wangerland (Lower Saxony) with a total of 136 employees. Together with the existing management team under the leadership of Folkert Schmidt, Quantum plans to further expand the company's presence in the field of electronic recycling through buy and build.
