The Postcon corporate group announces the successful completion of the change in ownership from PostNL to the Quantum Group. After signing in August 2019, the acquisition has since been approved by the Federal Cartel Office.

Germany's second largest mail service provider Postcon (Ratingen) is now owned by the internationally positioned Quantum Group (Munich). "The success of Postcon is based on a clear strategic orientation as an attractively priced, professional specialist and solution provider for business mail. Now is the time to take the next step, further develop Postcon under Quantum Capital Partners and expand the market position," said Christian Holland-Moritz, who will be responsible for the strategic direction of the Postcon corporate group as managing director and a passionate advocate of a competition-oriented postal market. The 52-year-old has been involved in the alternative mail market since 2005 - as an entrepreneur as well as a manager - and is a recognized industry expert. He previously served as Chief Operations Officer at Postcon from 2014 to 2016. Christian Holland-Moritz also brings experience outside of the postal market, having successfully implemented strategic realignments as CEO and managing director in both publicly traded and medium-sized companies. The background for the change of ownership of Postcon is the decision of the previous parent company PostNL to focus more on the core business of mail, parcels, and e-commerce in the Benelux countries. Meanwhile, the signs are favorable for Quantum Capital Partners to once again make history with the recent participation: According to the Federal Network Agency, the alternative mail market, with Postcon as the leading provider, has further expanded its market share to around 16 percent. In addition, the Federal Ministry of Economics is advancing a revision of the 20-year-old Postal Act to further promote market-based competition and address key points such as strengthened abuse control - to the advantage of the liberalized postal market, its participants, and their customers.
