Quantum Capital Partners (QCP) announced today that Revell Carrera GmbH, a company of Quantum Opportunity Fund II GmbH & Co. KG, has acquired 100% of the shares in the Austrian Stadlbauer Marketing & Vertrieb GmbH (SMV) from the Stadlbauer family. With this strategic acquisition, Quantum strengthens its position in the toy market. In 2018, the Quantum group already acquired Revell GmbH, a leading manufacturer of plastic model kits and remote-controlled toy models.

With the renowned Carrera brand, SMV is the world market leader and the epitome of slot car racing tracks. The Carrera brand is known for its authentic and detailed products of top quality, equipped with the latest technologies. In addition, SMV also develops and distributes remote-controlled toys of all kinds (cars, planes, drones, boats, etc.) under the Carrera RC brand. SMV also owns other well-known German toy brands such as the soap bubble manufacturer Pustefix and the doll manufacturer Schildkröt. The newly created group consisting of the brands Carrera, Revell, Pustefix, and Schildkröt has a turnover of around EUR 130 million. The group will be led in the future by Mr. Stefan Krings, who will, in addition to his role as Managing Director of Revell GmbH, lead the day-to-day business at SMV together with the existing management team. Dr. Norbert Frömmer will continue to serve as Managing Director in the Stadlbauer group. The Stadlbauer family will provide advisory support to the group in the future.
